The 50 most expensive yachts for sale now

How much does a superyacht cost? The answer is not so simple. Much like a luxury watch or car, the asking price depends on a variety of factors such as age, pedigree and finish, with the largest and newest vessels peaking into the hundreds of millions. To give you a better idea, BOAT International rounds up the 50 most expensive yachts currently listed for sale, starting with Lady Lara...

Aurora

Asking €130,000,000 with Bluewater Yachting

Builder: Lürssen
Length: 74m
Designers: Winch Design

Constructed to Lloyd’s classification, Aurora's key figures include an impressive volume of 2,113GT (split across four decks) and a beam of 13.2 metres, while a crew of 22 waits on an owner’s every need. 1920s Art Deco-inspired interiors house up to 16 guests in eight stately cabins. Among these is the private owner’s suite which features wraparound views and access to a private lounge foredeck. She also features an intimate top deck observation lounge with a daybed and a lounge with three bar stools forward, while a gym and Jacuzzi are found aft.

Sparta

POA with Arcon Yachts

Builder: Heesen
Length: 67m
Designer: Winch Design

Sparta has now overthrown Lusine as the Dutch builder’s largest steel yacht. Characterised by a low exterior profile and a hull accented in “Venetian red” and metallic grey, the shipyard claims that little has changed since the initial sketches were presented except for modifications to the aft deck pool, which now stretches to 6.5 metres. Accommodation is for a maximum of 14 people across seven cabins, with her elemental interiors – including a master cabin modelled after "air" – recently revealed to BOAT International.

Planet Nine

Asking €85,000,000 with Fraser
Credit: Thierry Ameller

Builder: Admiral - The Italian Sea Group
Length: 73.2m
Designer: Tim Heywood, Admiral Engineering, Mlinaric, Henry & Zervudachi

Planet Nine’s meticulous owner ensured that she was built to cruise the waters of Greenland, Antarctica and everywhere in between with ease. This is realised in the specially-designed ice-classed hull, constructed with thick hull plates, strong frames and bulkheads, and careful protection for her seawater intakes, to protect from cold temperatures and deal with sea ice up to 15 centimetres thick. Guests can enjoy 180-degree-views from the forward observation lounge, take a dip in the sundeck Jacuzzi, or relax in the spacious cinema. The dedicated owners' deck also comes complete with its own private lounge, terrace and study. The superyacht made an appearance in Christopher Nolan's mind-bending blockbuster Tenet.

Asking €79,750,000 (EU VAT paid) with Burgess, Edmiston and Y.CO

Builder: Oceanco
Length: 80m
Designer: Nuvolari Lenard, Azure Yacht Design and Naval Architecture, Alberto Pinto

Commissioned by a "very experienced, highly discerning owner", Y701's angular exterior belies a considerable internal volume of 2,310GT. Nine cabins can accommodate up to 18 guests, including an owner's suite that takes up almost half of the upper deck's interior. The space features a private lounge, an office and a his and hers bathroom with a large central bath. There is also direct access to the Portuguese bridge and private terrace with two Jacuzzis. Another highlight is the main deck wellness spa, which includes a gym with "spectacular views", a buffet, a bar, medical room, beauty salon and massage room.

B2

Asking €79,000,000 with Moravia Yachting

Builder: Abeking & Rasmussen
Length: 85.7m
Designers: Reymond Langton Design, Brian Callahan, Winch Design

Delivered in 2006, B2 remains the shipyard's third largest superyacht. A four-million-euro refit in 2020 saw her hull extended by seven metres allowing for a vast beach club that opens on three sides and a glass-bottom swimming pool that sits laterally across the main deck. Additional highlights include a sundeck Jacuzzi, an outdoor cinema, a fully-equipped gym and a dedicated massage room. Designed to be used as a multigenerational family yacht, accommodation is for 22 guests with an elevator serving each level right up to the sundeck.

Polar Star

Asking €54,000,000 with Eastwind Yachts and Merle Wood

Builder: Lürssen
Length: 65.2m
Designers: Espen Oeino, Azure Yacht Design and Naval Architecture, FM – Architettura d’interni

Polar Star joined the brokerage market for the first time in 2023, nearly 20 years after her delivery. The superyacht underwent an extensive refit in 2016 and has been continuously upgraded, including a full repaint by Pinmar in 2021. During her refit, the superyacht gym was overhauled, getting a new floor, while the hexagonal spa pool was replaced with a more practical rectangular, glass-fronted one, flanked by large sunpads. Up top, the sundeck's hardtop was replaced with a vast 60-square-metre carbon-fibre opening one, promising a weight reduction.

W

Asking €49,950,000 with Edmiston

Builder: Feadship
Length: 57.6m
Designers: Feadship De Voogt, Bannenberg & Rowell

Delivered as Larisa in 2013, W cruised under the same owner until she was sold in 2019. A 10-month refit soon followed, which saw W emerge from Feadship's Holland facilities with a gleaming silver hull, a larger Jacuzzi and an all-new television lounge. "The best thing about W is that she is a steel-hulled Feadship – and nothing even comes close," said W's current owner. "She gives you the freedom to explore anywhere in the world, unlike coastal yachts built by other companies." She's our latest entry to the list, having joined the market in April 2024.

Lioness V

Asking €45,000,000 with Camper and Nicholsons and Merle Wood

Builder: Benetti
Length: 63.5m
Designers: Stefano Natucci, Argent Design

Delivered in 2006, Lioness V  was described by the broker as a "milestone for Benetti and the industry alike" – though her layout benefits from a "proven format", particularly in the main saloon, dining area and upper deck. The main saloon opens up to the aft deck arranged with full bar, lounge area and extra wide staircase that leads down to the swim platform. An interesting perk is found up on the sundeck, arranged with a plunge pool, sunpads and an automated golf Tee-it driving range. A gym, steam room and shower are also to hand. The superyacht was listed for sale for the first time in September 2023.

Marguerite

Asking $39,900,000 with Moran Yacht & Ship

Builder: Lürssen
Length: 60.7m
Designer: Winch Design, Espen Øino International

Marguerite was built under the supervision of the Moran new construction team, with a design brief that requested a private owner’s area, professional dive centre, hefty tender storage and the ability to cruise for thirty days at a time. The owner's cabin is a particular highlight, spanning two decks and designed with an observation lounge, access to a private foredeck and a floating staircase that leads to an upper deck study. The yacht benefitted from a full interior refit after a change in ownership at the end of 2021.

Asking €29,900,000 with Ocean Independence

Builder: Amels
Length: 58m

The custom-built Astrid Conroy has accommodation for 10 guests across five cabins, not including the main deck master. A spa, gymnasium, wood-clad Jacuzzi and wine cellar with seating comprise the superyacht's list of amenities, while an interior refit by Michela Reverberi in 2018 resulted in a brand-new cinema being installed. Her most recent refit was completed in 2023.
